Q. When will students who complete their degrees in May receive their diplomas?
A. Diplomas will be mailed to each graduate’s home address in June. The diplomas date of conferral is as follows:
- May 8, 2020 – School of Medicine
- May 9, 2020 – School of Law, Graduate students
- May 16, 2020 – Undergraduate students
Please check with your adviser to confirm your degree requirements have been met.
Q. When will my rescheduled Commencement take place?
A. We are assessing the current situation on a daily basis. Our determining of a new date will be driven by guidelines from government and health officials, and the easing of restrictions on travel and group gatherings. We are in regular discussions with government and health officials to inform these decisions and we will communicate new dates as soon as we are able to determine when in-person ceremonies can be safely held.
Q. Why is the School of Medicine having a virtual ceremony?
A. Quinnipiac remains committed to holding in person ceremonies and celebrating this milestone together. Students in our Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine are moving to the next stage of their training with residencies and many will be on the front lines of the COVID-19 response. They will largely be unable to return to campus for an in person ceremony and so we have made the decision to hold their ceremony virtually. This decision only applies to the School of Medicine.
Q. School of Medicine: How will I access the virtual School of Medicine Commencement?
A. Information on accessing the ceremony will be sent to all School of Medicine graduates by email.
