School of Medicine Commencement

Event Recap

Congratulations, Class of 2017!

Quinnipiac conferred 58 medical and 5 Master of Medical Science in Anesthesologist Assistant degrees during the Commencement ceremony on May 14 at the TD Bank Sports Center.

Dr. Jonathan LaPook, chief medical correspondent for CBS News and professor of medicine at the NYU School of Medicine and Mebane Professor of Gastroenterology at NYU Langone Medical Center, delivered the keynote address. LaPook and Barbara Netter were awarded honorary doctor of humane letter degrees.

LaPook implored the inaugural medical class to remember what it feels like to be a patient and the emotions they feel, from helplessness to embarrassment to fear, during his keynote address. He urged graduates to turn away from computer screens and look their patients directly in their eyes.
